My plastic windows turned up before the race so more weight was removed from the car. I'd also managed to fit some camber adjusting bushes on the front of the car

Practice

For the first time in a while the weather was bad. It was drizling lightly but continuosly which meant the track was quite wet. I was close to the front of the queue for practice due to someone in the first queue not being able to leave the assembly area. I was behind some of the faster drivers and decided not to pass them as they would only have to repass me. This was a mistake as they took a few laps to get up to speed. I set a time on lap two but I suspect getting past the early on would have been better. I was quite pleased with my time of 1:43.107 which put me 22nd out of 35 cars.

Race

It was still wet for the race and the start was quite tricky. I got quite a lot of wheelspin but managed to make up a few places but then chickened out and pulled back into line before Avon Rise. Coming out of Quarry I was passed by Anne King and I followeed her closely but then spun in the middle of Camp at the end of the first lap. I managed to keep the car away from the pack and rejoined having lost lots of places. I managed to re-pass Ben Hindle coming out of Quarry without too much trouble. The safety car was brought out due to an accident between Carl Loader and Simon Norris. Simon rejoined me but decide to pass me whilst under safety car for some reason. We both got held up by a slower car for the second part of the lap and although Simon pulled into the pits I was still following the slow car up to the start finish line. This lost me lots of time to the cars ahead and I didn't have much hope of catching them  but it some became clear that I was catching Geraldine Duff quickly. I was right with her at the start of the last lap. I managed a better run out of the esses and passed her around the outside of Old Paddock. As I was coming up to Camp corner for the final time I noticed that Steve Sutton had gone off. I was very close to catching him as we crossed the line but was just short of passing him.

My best lap was 1:43.527 and I finished 23rd out of 28 cars
